What NGTL’s 2025 programmes brought into focus

How do you prepare young people for opportunities while recognising the personal demands that come with pursuing them?

NGTL’s annual report for the 2024–2025 reporting period brings that question into focus through professional branding, relationships and the work of strengthening the organisation behind its programmes.

The report, published in January 2026, also looks back at earlier work on international education and resilience. Read together, those strands show the breadth of the questions the NGTL community has been exploring.

Making professional strengths easier to communicate

The report describes a LinkedIn Roadmap to Career Excellence workshop led by Chika Ike Ojukwu in the first quarter of 2025. Its focus on brand voice and digital presence addressed a practical challenge: helping people explain the experience and capabilities they bring.

The accompanying Your Brand, Your Voice resource encourages participants to clarify who they are, what they do and who they do it for. It also asks them to make their professional story visible through a purposeful online presence.

Creating room for relationships and ambition

Heart vs Hustle brought another part of professional development into the conversation. The annual report records more than 150 attendees at a session with Patrenia West Onuoha exploring love and career success.

The programme resource introduces SHINE as a prompt for discussing sacrifice, mutual support, inner work, navigation and empowerment. It recognises that the choices people make about work sit within a wider personal life.

Attendance describes engagement with the session. It does not, by itself, establish a change in participants’ relationships or career outcomes.

Building the organisation behind the sessions

The report also describes internal restructuring, a website redesign and additional responsibilities in programme support and knowledge management and communications.

That work matters to how participants encounter NGTL. Clear information, accessible resources and organised delivery help people understand what a programme offers and how to take part.

The website update continues that practical task by bringing programme information, event lessons and partnership opportunities into one place.

Keeping future ambitions distinct from results

Looking ahead to 2026, the report sets targets for training and access to income-generating opportunities. Those figures describe intended progress at the time of publication. They should be assessed against subsequent evidence rather than treated as completed achievements.

NGTL’s wider goal remains to empower 10,000 leaders by 2035. Partners, volunteers and participants all have a role in shaping the work towards that ambition.

Read the annual report to explore the programme context, organisational priorities and acknowledgements in full.
